Anticipating several trips in 2024, we decided to squeeze in a brief visit to one of our favorite destinations in the US. Chicago holds its charm, especially during the winter, either before the snowfall or right in the midst of the season. During our recent visit in early December, we experienced a snowless landscape but encountered freezing gusts of wind that sent chills down to the bone. Despite a few days of rain, it was manageable with a good warm jacket.
Upon landing at O'Hare airport and stepping off the plane, the contrast in the cold air and the warmth of the people was palpable. Swiftly securing our rental car, we embarked on a journey through the long winding roads, passing numerous holiday-decorated homes with a distinct architectural style known as the "Chicago Bungalow." Our destination, the Sable hotel on Navy Pier, offered a warm welcome, and we quickly unpacked and settled in. For those seeking an excellent place to stay in Chicago, I couldn't recommend a better hotel than this. Here are some pictures showcasing the highlights of this remarkable place.
A few places we visited during our visit to Chicago during the December month included Wrigley Field where the Cubs play. No baseball game today as its the off season but they use the stadium for a family holiday event known as Winterland. Great place for the family and kids but get yourself some good winter gear as it does get a bit cold.
Here are some more pictures of the trip. Enjoy...
